Now, there are several iterations of this, the most popular is the shorter 45 minute ride that goes one way to the lock and the other way under the bridge. This is a great way to see the River, some wildlife and the homes along that stretch of river. It is usually a narrated tour with some great information. The second way is to take a longer version of this tour, maybe passing through the lock and going downriver for an hour or so before turning back. The last idea is to have lunch or dinner on the boat while taking in the above scenery. The short ride needs no reservation, however, the longer tours, especially with a meal will require reservations and some even like reservations some time in advance. It is best to check the websites for the different tours. Here are a few websites to help with your selection.
