Posted by Kenilworth is also home to Kenilworth Castle which dates from 1120. Dudley, Earl of Leicester a favorite of Queen Elizabeth I was given the castle in the sixteenth century. While most of the castle is a ruin now, it is still a wonderful place to visit.
Fun fact: Despite Dudley’s remodels specifically for the Queen, she only visited twice in 1572 and 1575…
