Waimea and Hibiscus πŸŒΊπŸŒΊπŸŒΊ

I love hibiscus flowers 🌺🌺🌺 and this is one of the most unusual I have ever seen. One of the interesting things I found out on my recent trip to Hawaii was that all the hibiscus varieties in the world originate from the Hawaiian Islands. If you visit Waimea Falls, there is botanic garden highlighting all the local flora. One garden shows the evolution of the hibiscus from Hawaii and how it made it’s way around the world. For more information on Waimea Falls and the Botanic Garden see here

Fact: Polynesians arrived in Hawaii as early as the 4th century AD. They brought many things with them including pigs and chickens, all by canoe.

If you go don’t forever to visit the Waimea Valley and you can even go swimming under the waterfall! Waterfall pics to come!
