Lyme Regis, Dorset

Posted by

Lyme Regis is one of the most attractive towns in Dorset. The Cobb is famous for being featured in the film The French Lieutenants Woman. Today it makes for an often windy but always exciting walk to the sea at the end. Lyme Regis still has its fishing boats and you can take a trip out to fish for mackerel. It also has it’s share of cafes, teashops for a typically Dorset cream tea and the famous Fossil Shop complete with the bones of a dinosaur. Lyme Regis was famous for fossil hunting in the 19th century and even today you might find an ammonite along the cliffs to the east.

There is a lot to see and do in Lyme Regis so to make the most of it I suggest checking out this Lyme Regis websiteΒ for all the info regarding this super little town.

Fun Tip: Find out about the ghosts of Lyme Regis on an evening Ghost Walk or a follow the paths of Lynch Mill Lane and George’s Square for a look behind the scenes…it is very pretty!
