I highly recommend National Trust Cookbooks, I have both Tea Time Recipes and The National Trust Cookbook which are both really easy to follow and the ingredients easy to come by. If you are used to using cups for measuring you might want to get a set of scales for accuracy as speaking from experience, conversion does not work very well.
