Posted by Three little places today…The Model Village at Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire which is a scaled down model of the actual village, the Model Village at Godshill, Isle of Wight, also a scale model of Godshill and nearby Shanklin and fairy toadstool houses at Blackgang Chine, Isle of Wight.
The model village in Bourton on the Water was established in 1937 but took five years to build. The model village at Godshill was established in 1952. Blackgang Chine is the oldest amusement park in England. It opened in 1843!
Fun fact: The model village at Bourton on the Water is the only grade II listed model village in the country. All the buildings are made from Cotswold Stone…
