Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire

Posted by

It cannot be denied that Bourton-on-the-water in the Cotswolds is one of the highlights of many tours of the Cotswolds. However if you look a little further beyond the main village center you will find all kinds of nooks and crannies. For example, did you know you can actually take a walking tour and see evidence of Bourton’s unlikely “bloody past”, see pots being made at the Cotswold Pottery or candles at Cotswold Candle Makers. Of course a visit to Bourton isn’t complete without a visit to Birdland with its over 500 birds or the 1/9th scale Model Village, both classic attractions (July 26th post).

Fun Fact: What was Bourton’s “bloods past”? Ghosts, murder, witchcraft, legends and superstitions and more…
