The pics today are all from the county of Cornwall. There are a plethora of places to visit in Cornwall and one of my favorites on the north Cornish coast is Tintagel the home of the legend of King Arthur. There is today, a ruined castle on the spot, as well as beautiful vistas such as the one seen here. There is evidence of Roman activity in this area from even as far back as 3-400 AD. It wasn’t until the 12th century that the legend of King Arthur was born when Geoffrey of Monmouth first mentioned that Arthur had been conceived at Tintagel in a literary work of the time. The legend stuck, although it is not known why Tintagel was chosen as the place. Many of the ruins seen today date from the 13th century onwards.
