A selection of photos from the Central Oregon Coast today. From Florence to Coos Bay and all the way to Bandon, you can see how wonderfully picturesque the scenery is and where vistas of the Pacific Ocean are around every turn. Just follow Highway 101 for as far north or south you want to go. There are a lot of great places to stay and maybe just as importantly, places to eat. In Florence, stay in the beach at the Driftwood Shores hotel or take in some golf at Bandon Dunes Golf Course, where you can stay, eat and drink. Fun Fact: There has been a lighthouse at Cape Arago, near Coos Bay since 1865.
Fact 2: Coos Bay is also the hometown of the famous athlete Steve Prefontaine who tragically died in a car accident.
