👜👠👓The famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall in central Milan. If you visit you will find that all the main roads seem to lead to this central place adjacent to the Duomo. Who was Vittorio Emanuele II? Victor Emanuele II was the first king of the kingdom of Italy. He reigned from 1861 – 1878. Before becoming king of Italy he was king of Sardinia. Anyway an interesting attraction, with many stores in and around the Gallery. Designer shops seem to predominate with less expensive ones a little further out. It is the oldest shopping mall in Italy. It opened in 1877.
Fun Fact: At the Center of the mall is the a divot on the floor. If you put your heel in the divot and turn around you will get good luck…
Fun Fact 2: There was a McDonalds there for 20 years until it was unable to renew it’s lease and a second Prada store opened.
