Tolovana Beach is situated just south of Cannon Beach, Oregon and can be reached from Highway 101. Still in sight of the famous Haystack Rock, which can be reached by a fairly short walk along the beach, Tolovana is a less busy but a great place to find a meal at Mo’s famous for it’s chowder or check out the smaller and quieter pubs, coffee shops and pizza places. This photo was taken on a beautifully sunny summer day, when temperatures are typically about 15 or 20 degrees F cooler than Portland or other inland cities. For more on Cannon Beach and Tolovana see the Travel Oregon website.
Fun Fact: Robert Kennedy liked Mo’s chowder so much he took a couple of buckets with him on his campaign plane after visiting the Newport, Oregon Mo’s in 1968.

Glad you included the weather temps. I was wondering what it would be like a day at the beach. Interesting post and fun fact too. Thanks.

Thank you! It is usually several degrees cooler on Oregon beaches – may be for only a few days in the summer are they above 80 degrees. π
