This is Vernonia Lake also known as the Mill Pond, Vernonia, Oregon. Vernonia is an old logging town in Columbia County. The city has been in decline with the amalgamation of forest industry companies and two floods, but lately it seems to be coming back to life. A nice drive and place to visit for a weekend outing. Vernonia Lake has fishing and trails while Main Street has restaurants and a few shops. You can also ride the Vernonia – Banks bike path for about twenty miles.
