The London Eye: Some facts and figures. The London Eye is a giant ferries wheel situated on the south bank of the River Thames in London. It cost Β£70 million and carried its first passengers on February 1st, 2000. It’s dimensions are 443 feet high and 394 feet in diameter and each capsule holds up to 25 people. It is no surprise that the Eye is a huge tourist attraction. It used to be the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, but today is the tallest in Europe. Take a spin and see some of the most wonderful views in London.

Fun Fact: Although it is not the tallest Ferris wheel in the world anymore, it is the tallest cantilevered Ferris wheel in the world.

Extra Fun Fact: A ride which is one revolution takes about 30 minutes.
